Bamboo

I didn’t know much about this plant

until I visited Bamboo Centre, Auroville.

Bamboo has more than a thousand varieties.

Does it grow four feet in a day?

Its rice is rich in calcium and minerals

You can make toys and jewellery,

chairs and tables,

houses and interiors!

Since it grows tall and has leaves

you may think it’s a tree…

But, did you know BAMBOO is actually a grass?
