You’re black all over
Commonly seen outside houses
Is that how you got your name?
The Indians believe yu have their ancestors’ soul
You fly with grace
You share your food with you clan
You’re kind enough to
Raise Cuckoo’s chicks in your nest as your own!
Then, why don’t the bird-watchers heed you?
Why is none thrilled to look at you?
Why is none amazed to hear your caws?
Why would none like to write poems on you?
Poets write on Hawks and Ibis, not you
Some write on Robins and Kites, but you
Is it ‘cause you are soot black?
… or, are they racists?
Oh dear Crow!
Here I’m writing the first poem on you
Be happy…
you
are not forgotten!
Very Nice:)
